River is made by Bedrock Computer, a small team building a workspace we'd want to use ourselves — for writing books, running businesses, raising kids, and shipping the work that matters.
We're funded by long-term investors who care more about the workspace being right than about hitting a quarterly target. Our business model is simple: charge for AI usage, no markup on the inference, and never train on your work.
