How does River connect to other software?

What if my software does not have an API?
River’s desktop app can drive the real software UI like a person would. Slower than an API, but it works on tools that do not expose one.
How do you handle credentials?
Encrypted at rest with Fernet, the key held in AWS Secrets Manager. Decrypted only in memory at the moment of a tool call. Never written to disk in plain text or to logs.
