Why typos matter more in fundraising
A misspelled donor name or funder name tells the reader the letter was not checked, and it is the error people remember. Check every proper noun against your records: donor names, foundation names, program officers and partner organisations.
Numbers deserve the same care. A grant summary that asks for $45,000 and a budget that totals $54,000 raise a question a reviewer may not ask you to answer. Check that totals, participant counts and dates match everywhere they appear.
Spellcheckers miss correctly spelled wrong words: form for from, there for their, public for pubic. Read the final version slowly, ideally aloud or on paper, after any automated check.

Common questions
Will it change my text?
No. It comments in place with each correction, and your text stays exactly as you wrote it until you change it.
Does it know how to spell our donors' names?
It cannot check names against your records, but it flags any name spelled more than one way in the document and any that looks unusual, so you can check them against your database.
Does it follow American or British spelling?
It follows the spelling the document mostly uses, and flags places where the two are mixed.
Does it edit style or grammar?
It flags clear grammar slips such as a missing word, but it does not restyle sentences. For tightening the prose, use a line edit.
