Gmail

Connect Gmail and River's assistant can look through your email and send messages for you. Your email stays in Gmail — River doesn't keep a copy of your inbox.

What it does#

Once Gmail is connected, you can ask River's assistant to:

• Search your email — find messages by topic, words, or sender
• Read what it finds — so it can summarize a message or use it to help with your work
• Send email for you — from your own Gmail address

When you ask in chat, River shows you the message and waits for you to confirm before sending it from your address.

Setup#

1. Open Connections in River
2. Find Gmail and click Connect
3. Sign in with Google and allow access

That's it. Try it by asking the assistant, "Find the latest email from Acme."

Things to try#

• "Find the emails from Maya about the launch and summarize them."
• "Did anyone reply about the invoice this week?"
• "Email Diego the notes from today's meeting."

Privacy & control#

• River connects through Google's sign-in — it never sees your Gmail password.
• River doesn't copy your inbox. The assistant looks up email in Gmail when you ask.
• You can disconnect Gmail at any time from Connections.

Tips#

• Name the person, subject, or timeframe you're looking for — "from Maya last week" finds things faster than "that email."
• Read the message River shows you before you confirm it.
