Browser
The Browser App is a real web browser inside River. Open any URL, browse normally, and capture what matters into your Dataspace without context-switching.
What it gives you#
- Native browser — full Chromium, with JavaScript, cookies, sessions
- Tabs and history — like any browser
- Clip-to-entity — save the page, a selection, or a screenshot to an entity in one click
- AI-augmented reading — ask SpaceChat about the open page; it reads the DOM
- Auto-summarize — summarize the page directly in the sidebar
- Auto-archive — long-form articles can be saved to Notes or Pages with one click
Browser vs. extension#

You can use both. Many people use the extension daily and the in-app Browser when doing focused research inside a Space.
Patterns#
- Research sessions — open a Space, open the Browser App in one Window, take Notes in another, let SpaceChat synthesize as you read.
- Competitor watch — keep a Space with the Browser pointed at competitor sites; clip changes into a tracking Doc.
- Form-filling — let the AI use the open Browser to fill forms based on entities in your Dataspace.
Tips#
- The Browser App's open page is context the AI can see in SpaceChat. Ask "summarize this article" or "extract the company list from this page."
- For tasks that need persistent login (your bank, your CRM, vendor portals), prefer Computer Use — it operates a real browser session you've already logged into.
